Dan and I were sitting around talking about ideas for inside activities today. We'll go to the craft store, see Bareback Mounting Brokeback Mountain...when mid-sentence, Dan yelled "SUNBREAK!!!"And we all ran out.
(Just so you know, that is NOT a black and white picture...if that gives you any idea the kind of ongoing, pervasive gray we are dealing with, here.)
In Oregon, in January, ANY sign of the sun is grounds for stopping everything and running out to soak up as much vitamin D as possible. While I was busy warding off Rickets, I was surprised to also find these:
plum blossoms seedum
and azaleas
.
This morning, the weather service said it will continue to rain through February and into March, but beginning in April, we are expected to have a warm, dry spring. It will be hard, but I can wait. I've become an expert at waiting. As long as I have hope.
You have flowers coming UP already? Gawd, the earliest we see anything is around March and that's the crocuses and maybe some brave daffodils.
I use to like winter, but I'm really hating it this year.

Those little signs of spring certainly do wonders for my mood! Thank you.

Ah.... hope. yes... that elusive beeatch that kicks so many asses into sad submission. I kinda like the rain this year... it feels cleansing somehow... helps me go internal and be quiet. However, I'm looking forward to a nice dry spring too ;)
