Sorry I have been MIA for a while. But, I'm sure you'll all understand, it's mid-cycle and all...I've been a little busy waiting for that opk to turn positive and that temp to rise so we can all rest. Tonight Dan was given leave to see the midnight geekfest opening of King Kong, but only after he gave me one more dose of his legendary juice (seriously, one nurse called it "awesome"). It was tricky, he had to meet his friends at eight, and tonight was our first meeting with a contractor after work. Somewhere in there, he managed to fix some dinner, too. Simply put, I'm married to a stud. And the future world's best dad (fingers crossed).
I loved the contractor (not in the way I loved Dan...I'm sure!) He had some great ideas and seemed really flexible about working within our means. He had creative ideas to make the most of what we have for the least expense. He seemed to understand our style and what we want. Also, he was just cool. Very important in someone who will be essentially living with us for a while in a very stressful time. He was funny and smart, loved our dog and knew how to CALM him down (which is HUGE!) and played with our kitty for a minute or two when she tried to attack his flashlight beam. I know we still have to meet with the others, too, but I have a really good feeling about this guy.
That is the number one priority in finding a contractor: you have to like him. He could be the most talented contractor around, but if he's a dick and doesn't listen, you won't like anything he does, even if he built you the Taj Mahal in replica.
